How do you ensure that your personality assessments don't discriminate against groups of individuals?

Assessments that rank certain groups of people above or below others can lead to discrimination against certain groups of individuals. Our personality assessment does not rank people. Instead it highlights different qualities of personality - how people view and interact with the world around them. All personality types are given equal value and we encourage individuals to identify their relevant strengths. Types are only differentiated in order to better respect and understand our differences.

When the assessment provides career suggestions, it is only based on those personality qualities and not on any physical differences. Also, the career component of the assessment is designed to prompt the student to consider more possibilities rather than limit them. Each career profile comes with related careers to help promote exploration, regardless of personal differences. Individuals can explore the entire career database if the suggested careers are not those of interest.

We acknowledge the history of ableism and other forms of discrimination with many assessments. Unfortunately, some discrimination still exists today in some assessments or in the way the results of unbiased assessments are applied.

The content of our personality assessment is updated and revised regularly to avoid bias or discrimination as well as ensure validity and reliability with diverse audiences. The statistical analysis reports for all four of our assessments are here
We advocate for non-discriminatory application of the assessment results through our
