What is Compared to You when viewing a career profile?

The Compared to you feature shows how an individual’s assessment results align with the typical levels expected for a particular career. This comparison is based on data from O*NET, which includes information on skills, abilities, interests, work styles, and other career-related attributes. Our algorithm evaluates both the importance and level of each attribute for the career, reducing any single data point's impact by considering multiple aspects. This use of many data points minimizes potential biases or errors.

In the report, an overview of this comparison is visually represented in the "Compared to You" section.

By selecting "View Details," users can see a breakdown of how specific skills and intelligences—if those assessments are completed—align with those required for the career. In this view, the individual's results are marked by an orange icon, while the expected career levels are shown as a black triangle.

This feature creates a unique profile for each individual and each career, allowing for a direct comparison. It is also used to identify the closest career matches—the more aligned the two profiles are, the closer the career match.
